Dream Screens is an album by Giles Lamb, released as a story. It follows a single
subject through eight sessions of a fictional grief recovery programme run by the
DreamScreen Corporation, a machine that promises to resolve loss by rewriting the
memory of it. Each track is one session. What you hear on this site is the album as
it was meant to be heard, in order, with the visuals and the system that surround it.
The music was written first and the fiction grew around it. Everything was composed
and produced in Giles's Glasgow studio and built in TouchDesigner, and the site plays
a little differently every time you enter. The onboarding music is drawn from a pool
of pieces that never appear on the album; the sessions themselves are the album
tracks, in full, free, here and on YouTube.
The album is available on Bandcamp and at gileslamb.com. Buying it gets you the ten
tracks plus the onboarding pieces as a bonus release, which you can't hear anywhere
